Gaming Monitor Guide: Resolution, Refresh Rate and Panel
Compare monitor specifications in the context of the games, hardware and desk where you will use the screen.
Resolution and size
Higher resolution gives a sharper image but asks more from the graphics card. Consider viewing distance and screen size along with pixel count; 1440p can be a practical middle ground.
Refresh and response
High refresh rates can make motion clearer when the PC renders enough frames. Response time claims vary by test method, so look for independent measurements and overshoot behaviour.
Choose for your room
IPS, VA and OLED differ in viewing angles, contrast and motion. Consider bright-room use, dark scenes and static desktop content. Confirm the chosen port supports the target refresh rate. See our GPU guide.
